I thought family means ‘no one left behind’ or to be more realistic, ‘your secrets are safe with me’. Or even the simplest one I can expect, ‘we accept you as you’.
Apparently that’s not the case with Indonesians. What you call family is people who can also stab you in the back or even talking bad/gossiping about you behind your back.
Sorry not sorry for being so skeptical but yeah, maybe I just had too high of expectations. I thought I was just too … cruel to think of it that way, but meh, apparently I wasn’t wrong.
There’s no difference between family and colleagues – in my case. And sometimes, colleagues can be even nicer than families. Or maybe I am just more tolerant towards them?
